Designs on Cashmere

If you were looking to invest in a garment made from an expensive textile like cashmere what kind of design would you look for? Could you happily consider something bang on trend which may quickly date and be out of fashion next year or would you select something more understated and effortless?

The obvious limitation to anyone's choice is of course budget size. If you have deep financial pockets you may not blink an eye at spending upwards of £1000.00 on a cashmere top from a high end fashion shop. These will more than likely be good quality cashmere garments in on trend colours, but more focused on the understated colours. The design lines will be contemporary but are unlikely to be over the top.

Textiles

If your pockets are smaller yet your taste is naturally inclined towards the more expensive end of the scale, are you limited to chain store type cashmere designs and quality? Not nowadays, because although your average high street is unlikely to have a shop that specialises in cashmere you can search on the Internet for cashmere and find a selection of companies that do. Ensure that you check the quality of the yarn used. If they do not state any specific details about the quality of the yarn used and its origins then either ask them or move on to a company that is clear and up front about such facts.

The designs you choose to wear are a personal choice of course, and are determined not only by budget but also by lifestyle. If you wear a suit for work you may like a lightweight sleeveless cashmere top or waistcoat to wear over your blouse or shirt. If you spend a lot of time in jeans just about any style of jumper will team up nicely, such as polo neck, crew neck, turtleneck or something lighter like a scoop neck maybe. A cardigan sits nicely over a matching vest top which will complement a skirt or trousers and of course cashmere cardigans and ballet style wraps go beautifully over many styles of dresses.

Your choice of cashmere garment will also be influenced by your figure shape and size. Look for looser fitting, flowing styles for a fuller figure. Slim figures can look fabulous in shorter length jumpers. Petite figures should avoid anything that swamps them. Whatever your size or shape try not to wear something too tight as this will distort the shape of both the garment and you.

If you are seeking a sporty and casual design cashmere hoodies may be worth looking at as hoodies are no longer just the domain of teenagers nowadays. These are warm, lightweight and practical garments suitable for both women and men of all ages, although with the price tag attached you may not want to wear yours for pruning the roses or mucking out the horses!

Investing in a cashmere clothing collection for your wardrobe could be seen as developing a long term asset, however it is one that you will get rather attached to, emotionally as well as physically. Whatever your style, budget, lifestyle or figure if you have any designs on buying some cashmere then it is best to simply enjoy it!
